Join the Dillon Ranger District staff to perform annual maintenance for the Birch Bender Loop trail on the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest. Bring the family because there will be a task for everyone! You can choose to brush vegetation back to widen the trail corridor with loppers, clean any leaf litter and rocks from drains with a shovel, use a hand saw to clear downed trees from the trail, use a Pulaski to redefine the tread, pick up trash in the Aspen Picnic Area and along the trail, or enjoy hiking a trail in your National Forest. Learn about traditional tools and the fundamentals of trail work while celebrating National Trails Day! Participants will need to bring a lunch, water, gloves, and lopping shears if available.
Meet at the Aspen Picnic Area at 10am (until 2pm)!!! See you there!
