Join us on Saturday, October 28th at the Dillon Town Overlook trailhead for some much needed trail work! We will be working on rebuilding the dry falls up the Grand Canyon trail, and possibly a few other locations in the area that need work. Come with work gloves and we will take care of the rest!
Please join us as we install our new benches on the Dillon Town Overlook trail system! As you may know, we had a bench, and a BLM bench in our trail system, and they were stolen this past spring 2017. We found the BLM bench, but the BTC bench was never recovered. This will not hinder our efforts however. We will be able to not only replace the first bench, but install a second bench as well. BLM is planning to replace their bench also, to make a total of three new benches!
We will meet at the trail head at on Saturday, October 21st, at 10 a.m.!
Bring gloves and a smile!
Our high trails area is becoming flooded with noxious weeds, and we need your help! August 26th, we will meet at 9 a.m. and pull weeds until 12 noon. The Montana Youth Challenge will be there to help us out as well, thank you! All you need is a pair of gloves, and a helpful heart. Let's keep our high trails land clear of noxious weeds, and friendly to all.
The USFS is working on a project to restore Wildflower Trail on Lemhi Pass this summer. They will be hosting a trail work week on July 24-28th, with the National Smoke Jumpers and would love to have your help! All meals will be provided!
Volunteers are welcome at any time on any of those days, or for multiple days and set up a tent!
Please fill out the meal sheet on when you plan on coming so the cook can plan accordingly. Once we have a volunteer group form, Dan Downey, our President will send that in as well. This form will cover any injuries that could occur when working on the trail, (although we anticipate zero!). Trail work includes clearing down fall, doing on tread work, etc. You can send the form back to Bill Kolar (address on the page), or scan and send to email@example.com. They need to know of food by July 3rd, so please plan ahead!
This is a fun and unique opportunity to help out the USFS, and get some great trail building experience that we can bring back to our own trails. Hope to see you there!
Let's help keep our high trails maintained! We will be having a weed pull/spray morning on July 15th, from 7 am to 10 am. Bring water, sunscreen, gloves and dress accordingly for pulling some weeds, keeping our trails useable, friendly and beautiful! Meet at the Dillon Town Overlook Trailhead. Stay posted for any new information, or contact us with any questions. Thanks and hope to see you all there!
