The Dillon Tree Board will partner with the Beaverhead Trails Coalition and Bike Walk Montana Inc. for a Trail Of Tress Tour on Thursday the 14th.
The tour will start at 6:30pm but you can join us earlier for a meet and greet. You will have the opportunity to either walk or bike the tour in 2 different groups. There is no charge to participate. Plan approximately 30-45min to complete.
13 different species of trees make up the trail. The tour will explain their characteristics and history.
We will be working on an exciting new trail that will have an easier grade to the top of Tim's Ridge and will also be installing a couple of gates to make the access easier, so you won't have to crawl over, around or through the barbed wire fence.
Bring tools, especially shovels, if you can. We have some Montana Youth Challenge cadets coming and also some people with trail building skills for guidance. We'll have water and snacks for everyone and we have our fingers crossed that the weather will cooperate.
Thanks for your support and help with this project!

Learn about traditional tools and the fundamentals of trail work while celebrating National Trails Day! Participants will need to bring a lunch, water, gloves, and lopping shears if available.

Their riding will encourage healthy habits, and lower parking congestion as well as emissions for the downtown Dillon area. For more details on the project click here

This work is funded by generous grants from our local United Way and the LOR Foundation and will make proposals to fund detailed engineering and construction possible.

The USFS is working on a project to restore Wildflower Trail on Lemhi Pass this summer. They will be hosting a trail work week on July 24-28th, with the National Smoke Jumpers and would love to have your help! All meals will be provided!
Volunteers are welcome at any time on any of those days, or for multiple days and set up a tent!
Please fill out the meal sheet on when you plan on coming so the cook can plan accordingly. Once we have a volunteer group form, Dan Downey, our President will send that in as well. This form will cover any injuries that could occur when working on the trail, (although we anticipate zero!). Trail work includes clearing down fall, doing on tread work, etc. You can send the form back to Bill Kolar (address on the page), or scan and send to firstname.lastname@example.org. They need to know of food by July 3rd, so please plan ahead!
