Policy on Land Use
The BTC is enthusiastic about and wishes to encourage public use of its trail systems. In service of this goal, the BTC is receptive to conduct of relevant public events on its property.
The BTC wishes to ensure convenience and safety to the general public, to the members of the BTC and the organization itself, to event planners and participants. It is important to the BTC that events conducted on its property are consistent in purpose with the mission of the BTC.
For any event, the BTC requires:
1. Submission to the Executive Director of a formal, written request describing the intended event and its purpose.
2. Time frame sufficient for consideration of the request by the BOD – a minimum of 60 days.
3. If the request is approved, submission of a complete Land Use Agreement specifying:
the purpose of the event.
the organization requesting the event.
a designated contact person for the organization.
Willingness to comply with specific stipulations.
5. proof of liability insurance covering the event, its participants, and the BTC.
