Happy Holidays from your Trails Coalition team!!!
Thank you for your amazing support this year and we wish you a lot of goodness in the next!
Cheers to more trails and continued fun in 2020!
Happy Thanksgiving!
2019 was a fantastic year:
BTC is 10 years old - and not one wrinkle yet!
We have 110 members!!! Our team is stronger than ever this year, thank you to all our members!
Our High Trails land acquisition is complete! You can now enjoy more 1,100 acres of public access on BTC's land with already 10 miles of trails and more to come! In 2020, we hope to develop new ones, start retrofitting some fences to make them wildlife-friendly, and more!
Phase 1 of the new trail along Noble Avenue allows safer walking from Highway 41 south. Phases 2 and 3 coming next year.
More downtown bike racks to accommodate bicyclists, and hopefully, help with the parking spaces downtown.
Walking School Bus is changing leadership. Thank you to Jamie Flynn and Shannon McWilliams for their dedication to the program over the last few years, and to our WSB volunteers for allowing the kiddos to walk to school 3 days/week!
So many fun events: Winter Family Fun Day, Earth Day, Spring Wildflowers Walk, Pronghorn Pursuit Trail Run, land acquisition celebration and trail dedication, Zombie Chase, Rural Homecoming, and Halloween Party at the Keltz Arena
And all of this is thanks to all of YOU! So Thank you, Dillon Community, our members, our sponsors, our grantors, our supporters, and have a beautiful Holidays Season!
Don't forget to come to celebrate with us on Dec 6th at Dillon Tap House.
Cheers,
BTC Team

We had a lot of fun on this very cold Saturday, October 26th for the first Zombie Chase, co-organized by the Dillon Public Library and Beaverhead Trails Coalition. 41 participants and more than 20 volunteers joined us to make this first Dillon Zombie Chase a fun community activity!!
Thank you to all our sponsors, volunteers and participants!! Y’all rock!
Noble Avenue Trail Dedication
The phase 1 of the new trail starting at Highway 41 and going down Noble Avenue was celebrated last Wednesday, October 16th at 4pm with a ribbon cutting event from our Mayor, M. Mike Klakken.
Thank you to all that attended, and to our great sponsors!
BTC receives more founding for Noble Avenue Trail
BTC was awarded a second $5,000 grant from the Union Pacific Foundation and another $2,000 from United Way of Beaverhead County!
The money will go toward the construction of the Noble Avenue Connector Trail. BTC has received a previous $5,000 grant last year from Union Pacific Foundation which was invested in the construction of Phase I (North section) of the Noble Avenue Trail.
The Noble Avenue Connector Trail will be built in 3 sections: the northern and southern portions will be dirt trails around running water and re-vegetated pocket parks; the middle portion where easement is not wide enough for a separate trail, will be built as a road-side lane by the City of Dillon. The expected completion date is 2020. The goal is to connect the Laknar Lane Trail on the north side of Highway 41 to the downtown trails and the safe-routes-to-school system.
Visit our Noble Avenue Trail Webpage to learn more about this exciting project.
Thank you Union Pacific and United Way for your support to our community!
High Trails Final Acquisition
After five years of hard work, we reached our target: 1,108 acres of foothills land right outside Dillon, for public access into perpetuity.
Since 2014, BTC has looked for funding and purchased the High Trails land one parcel at a time. As the land was acquired, BTC improved the trailhead, developed trails, and installed signage and benches. Today, over 10 miles of well-marked trails offer walking, hiking, biking, and riding opportunities.
The future looks bright with more room for trails and possibly a second trailhead. Stay tuned!!!
Raise a glass with us at the Beaverhead Brewery on September 21st - 5:30 pm to cheers for trails and public spaces! No-host celebration party, we will provide some finger food.
This amazing accomplishment would not have been possible without the great support BTC receives from Montana Fish and Wildlife Conservation Trust, Tim Speyer, Steele-Reese Foundation, the Baltoro Trust, the Kendeda Foundation, the Erb Family, Beaverhead County High School, Montana Youth Challenge, BLM, Beaverhead-Dearlodge Forest Service, University of Montana Western, our Sponsor An Acre participants, and all our members!
