PIGTAIL TRAIL CONNECTOR

The Pigtail Trail is a walking and biking path on the west side of Dillon near the YMCA.  To improve and further this trail BTC applied for and received a Recreational Trails Program (RTP) Grant. The RTP funds are a part of the Federal Highway Trust Fund and are administered through each state. Montana State Parks manages funds for the state.  The $24,000 grant was used to create a 600 foot gravel connector-trail and build a 60 ft. bridge over Owen's Ditch, thus connecting the existing trail to West Jefferson Street. The completion of this trail created another link in establishing greater connectivity of the local trail system.

The project was complete in October of 2016, with a final staining of the bridge, and the path and bridge are now used regularly.
